The Mexican arms in a sunburst appeared on much of the uniforms and gear of the Mexican forces. Above is one of twenty different shako plates Mexicans wore in the 1840s.

Regimental Officer's Dress Jacket

Division General's Coat Heavily embroidered but less colorful than the full-dress version, it was worn with a light-blue silk sash.

The lion's head hooks on each side held a chin strap. This hat belonged to someone of high rank, denoted by the wide horizontal metallic bands.
