PASO EL DIABLO

Samuel Chamberlain.  My Confession. Litho.

Samuel Chamberlain made the march to Parras through the Paso el Diablo, which he described as: the strange freak of nature . . . a wild, fearful looking place that the U. S. troops expected to be defended. But, the U. S. army, with its immense train of wagons moved through unopposed and quickly occupied the town.
